On behalf of the Rotary Club of Belconnen, welcome to our Website.

Rotary Belconnen was established in 1970. It is part of a global network of 1.2 million people belonging to 36,000 clubs in nearly every country in the world. They are your neighbours, friends, family members and community leaders. As Rotarians they have one thing in common; they are problem-solvers who see a world where people connect and take action to create lasting change. They connect across the globe, in our communities, and amongst themselves to provide “Service Above Self”.  In 2021 we will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary.

We deliver projects within our Belconnen, Canberra, National and International communities. They are mostly funded through monies raised through stall holder fees and general public gate donations at the weekly Jamison Trash & Treasure Market, which and raises approximately $200,000 each year for projects. Over our 50-year history we have raised over $6m through our weekly Trash & Treasure market, which has gone directly support to local schools, hospitals, aged care centres, community projects, Indigenous remote communities, and international aid support.

Rotary’s international charity - The Rotary Foundation, supports Rotary Clubs around the world to deliver projects to:

  • Promote peace,
  • Fight disease,
  • Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene,
  • Save mothers and children,
  • Support education,
  • Grow local economies, and
  • Support the environment

Rotary was the founding partner of the global polio eradication program, established in 1979. Over 2.5 billion children in 122 countries have been vaccinated. Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan. Whilst we are focused on eradicating polio in these remaining countries, we continue working to keep other countries polio-free.
